THE FLINDERS

A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to be asked to be a support vehicle for some crazy guys on BMW off road bikes. Part of our trip was to spend several days exploring the FlinderS ranges.
We popped off the Strezlecki Track from the north, past Mount Hopeless and the
Gammon Ranges.
travelling along here for a few hours we honestly were just in awe of the whole Flinders. Our first stop was to visit Arkaroola.
With its rugged ranges and gorge type valleys, we spent several days here soaking the whole place up. Visiting the original station, several mines, we completed several walks and camp away from the main tourist campsite- it was something to remember.

I know there are quite a few pics here in this post, but this place has to be seen to be believed. After several days in the top part, we headed south towards Wilpeana Pound. Known as 'The Pound', it defiantly is more commercialised than Arkaroola, but nether-less it was great to do several walks here and see down into the pound.

It was extremely cold when we were here with a huge frost one morning, even had kangaroos laying beside the fire getting some warmth into them, quite a sight.

A place to remember
