Collarenebri - home.....the last night

So, its finally come to this !!!!....
today we do the last stint of dirt towards Bouke, then pick a destination for a camp. Heading out of Wanaaring after a very cool night was a little sereal as we knew sometime today we would hit tar and traffic. A bit hard to say how many km we did on the dirt- and it was a good road surface too- before airing up, but by mid morning we entered Gumbalie station and soon found a place to air up. This is around 60km west of Bourke and is just where the tar starts, so after 2 weeks on reasonably low pressures it was time to knock them back up. It felf strange being on full pressure again, the car and trailer loved it. Wasnt long before we hit Bourke and time for someone else to make us coffee-this was at the local bakery- bloody amazing coffee and cake.
The plan was to head to Collarenebri and free camp beside the Barwon River- best part of this....hot showers...worst part....the 305km of tar. So after settling in we nailed the distance running between trucks, cars and the shit roads that are out here. Finally found camp and what a spot it was !!!!....A very clean and quiet setting, fires are allowed, we had pelicans land on the water and i would suggest some great kayaking on the river.
Tomorrow....last day of another epic trip.

And finally a quick video of the last lookout on my way home.
